I am a physician scientist, gastrointestinal oncologist, biotech entrepreneur and investor committed to making better therapies for all patients.

About

I am currently a Venture Partner at The Column Group, a Co-Founder of Monimoi Therapeutics and a gastrointestinal oncologist at Stanford University School of Medicine. In addition, I am a Board Director for Monimoi Therapeutics and SyntheX, a Board Observer for Plexium, and serve advisory roles as an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at the Arc Institute, on the SAB for CxT Discovery and as a member of the Industry Consortium for Reversing Early Recurrence. As a physician scientist, I'm interested in immunology, cancer biology, single-cell genomics, mathematics and machine learning, applied to the discovery of new cancer therapies. Clinically, I primarily see gastric and pancreatic cancer patients.

Prior to my current role, I was a researcher at the Broad Institute running an independent group alongside Eric Lander and Nir Hacohen's labs, a gastrointestinal oncologist at the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) Cancer Center and an Entrepreneur in Residence (EIR) at Third Rock Ventures, where I was part of the founding teams for Abata Therapeutics, Asher Biotherapeutics and Clasp Therapeutics. I completed my hematology/oncology fellowship at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) and MGH, and my internal medicine residency at MGH as part of the Stanbury Physician Scientist Pathway (PSP).

I was born in New Delhi, India and raised in Hong Kong and Singapore before moving to Florida at the beginning of my sophomore year of high school. I did my undergraduate degree at Duke University studying pure and applied math, and chemistry. I subsequently completed my MD at David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and my PhD at Caltech with David Baltimore.

I have a multidisciplinary clinical, experimental, and computational background. My research spans data science and machine learning, single cell and spatial transcriptomics, functional genomics and lineage tracing, image based screening (such as optical pooled screens), pre-clinical tumor models and translational oncology.
